Allison Fender - DSc, PT, C/NDT, ATC

Allison, or “Al” as she prefers to be called by her patients, has a Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy with a concentration in Neurology from the University of Maryland. Allison is certified in both Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) and LSVT BIG, which aids in the treatment of people affected by Parkinson’s Disease, helping to train them to use their bodies more effectively. She is also a Level 2 trained Saebo Therapist, Certified Clinical Instructor and Certified Athletic Trainer. Throughout her years working in Physical Therapy, Allison has identified a specific need for individuals with complex diagnosis including those affected by Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, TBI, and CVA. In creating Unified Therapies, Allison and her team of professionals will be able to meet the needs of these individuals through an approach of treating the person as a whole, providing comprehensive care and resources to support her clients’ very personal journey to live a full and independent life. Allison is a native of WNC, having grown up in Madison County. She enjoys spending time with her family, mountain biking, hiking, photography and traveling.

Christy Gambill - PTA

Christy is a Physical Therapist Assistant with more than a decade of experience providing exceptional care to a diverse population including geriatrics, pediatrics and adults at both short-term and long-term rehabilitation facilities. She has experience in working with multidisciplinary teams, implementing PT care plans and assessing progress toward her patients’ goals. Christy enjoys spending time with her family kayaking and camping. She is also a native of WNC

Brett

Brett is a medical alert service dog. She is 7 years old. She is trained in recognizing high and low blood sugars, seizures, increase in heart rate, and assists with PTSD and emotional distress. She also assists clients in exercise and balance activities at Unified Therapies. When Brett is off duty, she enjoys swimming, fetching, and paddleboarding.
